Mommys Links — SecuraChild.com Helps Parents Find Missing Children Faster

Filed under: Children, Family, Online, Safety, Security, _SecuraChild RSS, _SecuraTrac RSS — admin @ 9:51 am

Seconds after parents upload a missing child report SecuraChild.com notifies network of social media websites and SecuraChild.com members to begin the search

Every 40 seconds someone’s son or daughter is reported missing, totaling 2,160 missing children a day or about 800,000 missing children in the United States each year. From the days of printing children’s faces on milk cartons and posting on highway electronic billboards the alert systems available to help locate missing children have gone hi-tech.

SecuraChild™ is entirely free for parents and guardians to use. An account can be created for any child with a minimum of important identifying information including: height, weight, hair color, and eye color. A parent can include other meaningful information including medical conditions, unique and descriptive features as well as posting images, videos and other content that could be used to help find their missing child quickly. The site is fully encrypted and each account is protected to ensure the security of all information. Also, parents can choose exactly what details they want to save on the profile that they create. If a parent’s son or daughter should ever go missing, the parent can quickly login to their account to provide basic details such as where the child was last seen, what the child was wearing, and where they may be going or ties to an area or community. SecuraChild then broadcasts the information and the child’s detailed portfolio to thousands via social networking sites, text messages and emails, creating a nearly instantaneous network of searchers.

In addition, when a missing child is reported, SecuraChild emails the parents a free PDF document that packages all of the stored information on the missing child. Parents can provide this document to law enforcement to expedite the process of registering their missing child with local law enforcement and the issuance of a traditional Amber Alert.

Provide yourself with peace-of-mind and your child with an instant search party should he or she ever go missing. Sign-up today at www.securachild.com.

SecuraChild powered by SecuraTrac is the latest advancement in these systems, combining the power of various social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter, with email and text message notifications whenever a child is reported missing through the site.

Amber Alert Alternative: A Free Service for Parents

Filed under: Children, Family, Online, Safety, Security, _SecuraChild RSS, _SecuraTrac RSS — admin @ 9:00 am

By Lisa Bakewell, Chicago Moms Like Me

Periodically, I’m sent information on new products that the companies would like me to post about. Sometimes I feel compelled to do so, sometimes I don’t. Last week, I received information about SecuraChild, and I thought the information was important enough to pass on.

SecuraChild is a free Internet-based service that allows parents to create accounts and save profiles on each of their children that they can print out for police with details that can be hard to recall under stress (like height, weight, etc.

The best part is that parents can log in and submit a missing child notice that is broadcast over Facebook, Twitter and the SecuraChild network (members of the network receive a text and email missing child alert message) notifying hundreds of potential searchers that the child is missing in mere seconds. This is especially important because every 40 seconds, in the United States, someone’s son or daughter goes missing, but only a fraction of those children are eligible to have a traditional Amber Alert issued for them, since the circumstances of their disappearance do not lead officials to believe they are in life-threatening danger.

CBS San Diego & SecuraTrac Prepare for SD County Fair

By Marcella Lee, Anchor/Reporter, CBS San Diego

DEL MAR (CBS8) - An average of 2 to 3 kids are reported lost each day at the San Diego County Fair according to fair security, but this year, parents can rent a new gadget which will track their child’s position through GPS and cell phone networks.View Video

Sean Murray, from SecuraTrac, explained how it works to CBS8, saying, “We have a virtual fence around the fairgrounds, so if this device leaves that barrier, the parent’s going to get an SOS message, and we’re going to get an SOS message on our dashboard.”

There’s also a button kids can press if they get lost, which sends a text alert, and parents can call the dispatch center if they realize their child is missing.

Personnel will be monitoring the devices from the security dispatch room at the fairgrounds.

During a security tour, San Diego County Sheriff’s Commander Patricia Duke said the device is a nice compliment to the existing security cameras and measures already in place, adding, “It’s innovative. I think it’s a comfort for parents to know they can track their child down. We all know that the fair gets crowded, and often kids can wander.”

Renting the device for the day at the fair costs $9.99. The

The San Diego County Fair opens Friday, June 10th and runs through Monday, July 4th. The fair will be closed all Mondays except the fourth of July.

SecuraTrac booth is located inside the fairgrounds, to the right of the main gate.

Kid Friendly Mommy Approves of SecuraChild

My worst nightmare is that my children go missing. Point blank, I can’t think of anything worst. I take all necessary measures to prevent it from ever happening and pray daily for their safety. But, the what if’s drive me crazy! We’ve all heard the horror stories and also the celebration stories of safe returns. We all pray for the celebrations. As a parent, what would I do? I would want immediate action, a plan to spread the news far and wide so my babies would return safely as soon as possible. We thankfully live in the day of fast/wide spread communication, but in your state of panic, would you know how to act on it?

When I recently learned of SecuraChild.com it sparked a definite interest.SecuraChild’s mission is to help parents find their missing children faster. They say that seconds after parents upload a missing child report, SecuraChild.com notifies a vast network of social media sites to aid in the search. The missing children statistics are astounding. Did you know that every 40 seconds someone’s son or daughter is reported missing. That is 2,160 missing children A DAY or approximately 800,000 children in the US a year. SecuraChild.com offers the latest advancement in combining the powerful forces of social media networks with emails and texts.

SecuraChild.com offers free accounts that can be created ahead of time with minimum identifying information given. The site is safe and secure and fully encrypted and each account is assured secured information. If a child ever goes missing, a parent can quickly log on and provide basic information as to the missing child’s attire, etc. SecuraChild.com then quickly broadcasts the information to thousands. In addition, once a child is reported missing, SecuraChild.com will immediately email out to the parents a PDF package that parents can instantly provide to law enforcement to expedite the process.

If God forbid the unthinkable happens, it would be nearly impossible to remain calm and think rationally. It’s nice to think that something can be created ahead of time, prepared and ready to roll out if the need arises. I would encourage all parents to review this site. I’m all about being prepared and I think this site might offer some good assistance should the worst occur.
